NCB Now: Family Lives present online parenting programme

Friday, October 14, 2011

As part of its Instructions Not Included campaign, Family Lives is pleased to announce it is the first organisation in the UK to offer the internationally-acclaimed Triple P - Positive Parenting Program online to parents via seven key demonstration sites.

Professionals working with children in Ealing, Croydon, Nottingham, the Forest of Dean, Gloucester City, Hampshire and Sunderland should contact Family Lives to participate in signposting the programme to parents. Respondents to a recent online survey from the charity found that 53 per cent of parents would access parent support via their school, with 66 per cent of parents saying they would go to their GP.

Triple P Online is an eight-session online course based on the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program, created to respond to the needs of parents who are too busy, reluctant or isolated to attend regular parenting courses. Triple P Online introduces users to Triple P's core parenting skills - simple strategies to encourage positive behaviour and prevent and manage misbehaviour. The programme contains video clips, worksheets, and online activities.
