Macmillan creates an activity pack

Monday, November 10, 2008

A leading cancer charity has produced an activity pack for youth workers to help them educate young people about the disease.

The Keep Healthy, Be Active pack has been developed by Macmillan Cancer Support and includes lesson plans, resource sheets and a colour poster.

Macmillan worked with medical and educational professionals to design the pack, which shows young people the steps they can take to minimise their chances of developing cancer.

Katherine Donaghy, schools and youth education co-ordinator at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "Equipping young people with the facts will help shed any taboos, help them make choices about their lifestyles and create a more sensitive and cancer-aware society."

To order the pack, call 0845 601 1716 or to visit www.cancertalk.org.uk.
