Green paper on families due out
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
The government is developing a families green paper, due for publication in the autumn, CYP Now can reveal.
It is understood that the green paper was conceived in the wake of Baby P, and will include plans to strengthen support for families, with a particular focus on early intervention services.
It is likely to include an emphasis on identifying families with additional needs, including those who have problems with drugs and alcohol.
In an interview with CYP Now, new children's minister Dawn Primarolo said that examining policy around family relationships would be her top priority.
