Antisocial Behaviour

Lots of people are affected by antisocial behaviour every day. It is a big problem in disadvantaged areas and can stop them developing.
I think young people behave antisocially because they think it is the best way to get attention. They might be suffering from problems at home and this is the way they express their anger. Being young is about learning and making mistakes, therefore young people without support end up involved in antisocial behaviour.
In order to prevent antisocial behaviour, I would target young people not in education, training and employment and find out what they are doing instead. I would offer them social gatherings where everyone integrates and shares their views about issues that affect them to improve community spirit. By doing this, young people will boost their confidence and feel valued.
I would also offer more team-building activities and let young people organise workshops. I'm lucky because, with the Reel Change project at Tower Hamlets Summer University, I can express my views on London for young people.
