The NSPCC has released an online training toolkit to help children's professionals to uphold children's rights.
The toolkit has been launched today to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Guidance includes asking children for their opinion of services as a matter of routine. Setting up panels or committees to help them express their views should also be considered.
NSPCC director of training and consultancy Enid Hendry said: "It explains in simple language what children's rights are and how they can be used in everyday situations to make sure they get the right protection."
The Children’s Rights Alliance for England has been involved in developing the toolkit, which is being produced by distance learning firm EduCare.
