#Chances4Children: Free conference to challenge digital divide among young people

A London youth centre is set to host a free conference for youth workers aimed at exploring the best ways to support digitally excluded young people.
SoapBox Youth will host the conference tomorrow (15 June) which will consider approaches and uses of digital, media and technology to re-imagine young people's online and offline learning experiences.

Speaker sessions and breakout activities have been designed to explore the use of digital technologies and platforms to engage socially and digitally excluded young people through four key themes: Digital Disruption, Digital Outreach, Digital Divide and Digital Skills.
Keynote speakers include Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon, head of Stemette which encourages girls to take part in science, technology, engineering and maths, Ndidi Okezie, chief executive at UK Youth and Sema Ermis, a games design student at Birmingham University).
Panel discussions will focus on learning and best practice for youth work post-pandemic and “Looking Ahead - Beyond Video Conferencing” which will examine the future landscape for youth work and digital.
