Revie will replace interim chief executive Jules Hillier in September, who was drafted in following the departure of former chief Helen Marshall in April.?

Marshall's move to youth sexual health charity Brook coincided with the merger of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services with Ambition.

Revie's background includes being the former chief executive of Landmark, a youth education charity based in London's East End, former head of donor services at international aid charity Tearfund, and running her own freelance consultancy and training business.

Her most recent appointment has been as chief executive at youth education provider Reynolds Training.

"I am thrilled to be taking up the position of chief executive of Ambition," she said.

??"In a complex and rapidly changing environment I look forward to working together with our staff, members and trustees to support young people to make the most of opportunities and overcome challenges.

"I believe my experience in establishing and managing innovative education programmes, successfully developing external relationships and networks and securing significant growth in government and commercial funding will enable me to be an effective chief executive for Ambition, supporting the charity to deliver its strategic priorities."

Hillier will be moving onto the National Union of Students.
