Grants supporting music-making opportunities for children and young people in England

Funding Between £5,000 and £30,000.

Funder Youth Music was set up by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Arts Council England in 1999. It supports music-making opportunities in England for children and young people aged up to 18 and acts as a development agency and advocate for organisations.

Aim The aim is to fund music-making activity in England. Although participants in general must be 18 or under, funds are available for activities with disabled young people, those with special educational needs and those in detention up to the age of 25.

Who can apply? Projects need to fall under one of the three themes: early years; challenging circumstances or encouraging talent and potential. Projects must run between six and 24 months. Organisations need to have been legally constituted for at least one year.
