Funding for projects that benefit the community or groups of more than four people

Funding Sylvia Waddilove left a portion of her estate to charitable purposes when she died in 2001 and, during her lifetime, she set out the way in which her funds should be used. Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available for small charities with an annual turnover of under £500,000; however, trustees may use their discretion to increase or decrease the total funds awarded. Applicants must stipulate the amount they require, and funds may be spread over two or three years.

Funder The Sylvia Waddilove Foundation UK

Aim To fund projects that benefit the community or groups of more than four people. This includes educational projects for children and adults, musical compositions and performances, medical research and assistance for the disabled.

Who can apply? Registered charity applications are favoured, but the trustees may also consider requests from larger organisations or community interest companies. Regional branches of larger charities whose annual turnover is more than £500,000 may also apply.
