Funding for individuals and charities working to enhance the quality of life for people in need

Funding There is no specified lower or upper limit for grants, nor is there a deadline for applications. The smallest grant that ACT has made was £100, and the largest was £4m. The charity aims to make decisions on grants of up to £50,000 within one month of receiving the application. Decisions on grants of over £50,000 take up to three months.

Funder The ACT Foundation is a charity that provides funding for individuals and charities in the UK. Its main objective is to enhance the quality of life for people in need. It does this by providing grants to fund services, amenities, equipment and adaptations to residential accommodation, as well as other forms of financial assistance.

Aim ACT's grants normally fall into four areas. These are building, equipment, medical research and financial help for recreational and respite breaks. Building grants fund modifications to buildings including homes, schools and hospices, and equipment grants pay for things such as specialised wheelchairs.

Who can apply? Individuals or charities that have been registered for at least three years are eligible to apply for funding. ACT will not fund projects that promote a particular religion or faith and is unlikely to support community centres or youth clubs.
