This is Care Rediscovered.

States of Jersey Children’s Social Work Services
Tuesday, October 31, 2017

An island community built on care, Jersey is a place where social care professionals can do things differently.

The States of Jersey Children's Social Work Services is entering a period of transformation. We're improving our management structure, to continue to ensure that children are at the heart of everything we do.

The recently published Jersey Care Inquiry Report made a number of recommendations to enable our Care service to move forward. The Inquiry report, alongside the Service Improvement Plan, is enabling us to focus on what needs to happen to develop and improve our services for children and young people.

The fact that we are self-governed here on Jersey means that we are free to do things differently. We have greater scope to decide what is best for the people we serve - and we can make changes happen quickly, efficiently and effectively.

Unlike other Children's Social Work Services we're part of a single, integrated Health and Social Services Department. With a multi-disciplinary approach, we work to ensure that services are easily accessed, equitable and based on individuals' assessed needs.

We bring together the expertise of a range of individuals and agencies to achieve our goals - to ensure that vulnerable children, young people and their families receive the support that best meets their needs.

Everyone here works in collaboration with a wide range of teams and partners. This gives us the advantage of being able to draw on all kinds of expertise and opinion; to share and develop best practice.

Our shared sense of purpose means that innovation and change - such as our Service Improvement Plan and initiatives to redesign ways of working - are encouraged and welcomed. Equally welcome are new members of our professional community.

Today, we are seeking social care practitioners at various levels. People who share our passion for delivering better outcomes for vulnerable children and their families. Current vacancies include Social Workers (£45,612 - £50,261), Senior Practitioners (£50,261 - £55,989) and Team Managers (£55,989 - £61,536).

Our people matter to us, so we'll support you from day one. We'll give you everything you need to make this move and start changing the lives of others, and your own. That includes a generous relocation package (up to £8,000) and support to make the move.

We also offer continual training and development opportunities, for a future that is constantly full of growth. Perhaps most rewardingly and uniquely of all, we offer you the freedom to rediscover not just why you love what you do, but also who you are.

Although only 45 square miles, Jersey is full of things to do and life to live. With wonderful beaches, vibrant countryside and a wealth of restaurants, you'll soon feel at home and ready to take on your new adventure.

Together we'll help to give the children and young people of our beautiful island community the best possible outcomes in life. This is care rediscovered.
