I've just read a fantastic article in The Times about an ex-history teacher, who had been brought in to rescue a failing school in Tower Hamlets, our home borough.  It reminded me how many fantastic teachers we work with at Changemakers.  They invariably respond inventively, supportively and promptly to pupils' problems, and encourage them throughout their efforts to fix their situation.  Ruth Bullard in Norfolk worked with socially excluded children at her school to create a vegetable garden that finished up supplying the school's own kitchens.  Lynda Dixon in County Durham helped a group of students to start up a project to sell water and recycle the bottles it comes in to raise money for water projects in Africa.  You can vote for your favourite teacher in The Teaching Awards.
