THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: DMU archive material lands at The NYA

Tuesday, April 1, 2003

De Montfort University has donated more than 100 volumes of historical interest on youth work to The National Youth Agency.

The bequest includes part of the collection on youth work issues of the late Joan Matthews, an influential figure in the development of group work and author of key texts such as Working with Youth Groups. Other materials come from the University's library as it prepares for the closure of the Scraptoft Campus, which has hosted DMU's courses on youth and community work.

Jo Poultney, NYA librarian, says: "We're most grateful for this donation, which will greatly enhance our archive collection and help students and researchers to locate and study some hard-to-find texts." The NYA library catalogue can be searched online at www.nya.org.uk.
