An e-learning initiative aimed at Glasgow youth has attracted more than 32,000 users.

An e-learning initiative aimed at Glasgow youth has attracted more than 32,000 users.Aimed at 16 to 24-year-olds, the Creative Learning online programme was put together by software developer Junction-18, in conjunction with Scottish Enterprise and Scottish centre for architecture and design, The Lighthouse. It is part of the citys ongoing lifelong learning initiative. Users can access the programme from 26 libraries and learning centres in the region. We aim to bring information on jobs in the creative industry to young people who are not normally academic, to show them the types of skills needed and courses available to get into a particular creative field, said Junction-18 project manager Andrew Shaw. Current modules, which take from five minutes to two hours to complete, offer information on topics such as architecture, screen arts, writing, new media and sound design. We are going to be adding more learning bites to the programme in time, said Shaw. To find out more, click on the Creative Learning link at www.intoreal.com/learners
