Tuesday, September 11, 2007
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has launched a project to test new approaches to social work.
The Remodelling Social Work Delivery Project aims to free up social workers' time and allow them to do more direct work with children and families.
Other aims of the project are to improve retention and recruitment of staff, allow more early intervention and involve non- social care staff, trainees and social work students through work placements.
Jane Haywood, chief executive of the CWDC, said: "This project will explore new ways of working which should prove attractive to social workers and improve outcomes for service users."
