BBC Children in Need: small grants programme

Children in Need is the corporate charity of the BBC and it aims to make a difference to the lives of children across the UK through support by the public.
Its small grants programme tries to get children and young people aged 18 and under across the UK to reach their full potential, as well as keeping them safe, happy and secure.
Who will it fund? The small grants programme will fund projects run by charities and non-profit organisations that help prevent or overcome the effects of disadvantage that children and young people across the UK face. These include illness, distress, abuse, neglect and any kind of disability. It will also fund those aiming to help children through behavioural or psychological difficulties and children living in poverty or situations of deprivation.
How much is available? Organisations can apply for any amount of funding up to and including £10,000 for one-year only. Those who already have a small grant can also reapply to keep their project running, but the charity will need to see evidence as to how the first lot of funding has made a difference. Those looking to top-up funding for salaries or larger projects where the grant will have made a marginal difference are unlikely to be successful.
What is the deadline? The funding is given out four times a year and the final application date for this year is 1 December, with the decisions announced in early March 2016.
