The two organisations have been awarded £2.7m from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Department for Education to run the enrichment partnerships pilot.

The pilots will take place across schools in education investment areas in the North East, North West and East of England.

These schools are being targeted, through the government’s Levelling Up agenda, as they are among the third of council areas where educational attainment is the weakest.

Through the partnership local enrichment coordinators will be recruited to work with up to 10 schools to provide sports, arts, volunteering and outdoor activities locally. This will also involve working with local businesses, charities, multi-academy trusts and councils in each area.
