Ofsted's inspection remit is expanding and the regulator is actively recruiting new inspectors.

From next year, Ofsted will start registering supported accommodation for young people in care and care leavers with inspections getting under way in 2024.

Other new and growing areas of work include a new inspection regime for services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ongoing inspection and investigation of unregistered schools and children's homes, and enhanced inspections of colleges and sixth forms looking at local skills gaps.

The regulator is currently recruiting across all of its remits but this year is particularly keen to attract those with backgrounds in SEND and supported accommodation.
