The programme is being run by the Young Adult Learners Partnership (YALP) following an award of 90,000 from the National Research and Development Centre for adult literacy and numeracy. Project officer Bethia McNeil (see below) is now in a post at The National Youth Agency and is working on the first phase of the project - mapping current provision and undertaking a literature review and developing contacts in the field. The second phase, beginning early 2004, will encompass a review of existing teaching and learning materials, and the design and piloting of additional materials.
If your work involves working with young adults aged 16 to 25 to develop their literacy, language and numeracy skills, and you are interested in finding out more about the project, or being involved, please contact Bethia McNeil, YALP project officer, at bethiam@nya.org.uk, or on 0116 285 3726 with your details and a brief outline of your work.
