By , Wednesday 02 August 2006

The NYA has published the latest edition of Vibes & Voices, its magazine dedicated to promoting good practice in voluntary action by minority ethnic young people, and successor to the award-winning Shabaab.

In an article on community cohesion, Eli Anderson suggests that in order to achieve cohesion, a reinvention of permanent structures is necessary as well as an increased level of risk, innovation, bravery, commitment and resource allocation by local government.

Elsewhere, Martin Buczkiewicz offers a view on gambling, while Fletcher Phiri of the Naz project shares some findings from recent research into the sexual behaviour of Black and minority ethnic young people in London.

Vibes & Voices is available at a discount as part of the YouthAction publications package. An annual subscription of 15 includes three editions of the magazine, plus four sets of youth action case studies, two issues of YouthAction magazine, briefing papers, the monthly electronic mailout e-youthaction and more. Contact The NYA Sales on 0116 242 7427 or email sales@nya.org.uk.
