Youth Justice: Offending scheme helps job prospects

By , Wednesday 23 March 2005

A partnership between youth offending teams and Connexions in Greater Manchester has increased the number of young people in education, employment or training, reports an interim evaluation by the Youth Justice Trust.

The trust found that the partnership, which involves Connexions Greater Manchester and 10 youth offending teams, has allowed resources to be used more flexibly. More than six out of 10 of the young people on the programme were now in education, employment or training.

The project works by providing young people with targeted support, such as mentors.
