The charity Action for Children is using children's centres to work solely with dads in a pioneering project backed by the government's Early Learning Partnership Project.

The project was launched by the charity, formerly known as NCH, due to the under-representation of fathers among children's centres in north Solihull. Since focusing on the needs of fathers, the project has reached more than 500 dads and male carers. Action for Children said the work helped improve fathers' self-esteem, social skills and interactions between them and their children.
