By Joe Lepper Thursday, 11 March 2010
Disabled children's charities are being issued with advice on improving their lobbying of MPs.
The guide, Influencing for Impact: a guide to influencing policy and politicians for the disabled children's voluntary sector, has been launched by the Council for Disabled Children.
Issues covered include lobbying for amendments to legislation and encouraging MPs to lay down early day motions and private members' bills.
Ways of working with different parliamentary groups such as select committee members and all party parliamentary groups are also covered.
Christine Lenehan, Council for Disabled Children director, said: "This guide will demystify the process of influencing central government to introduce new rights and resources for disabled children and their families."
