CYP Now launches care leavers section of bookstore
By Charlotte Goddard Thursday, 22 October 2009
CYP Now has created an online bookstore stocked with titles on care leavers and children in care, to mark National Care Leavers Week.
The care leavers section of CYP Now's bookstore includes titles reviewed by CYP Now such as Supporting Young Parents: Pregnancy and Parenthood among Young People from Care as well as books covering issues such as mentoring, and health and wellbeing.
The CYP Now bookstore also contains sections on classic youth work books, children's centres, extended schools and fostering and adoption, among others, as well as books reviewed within CYP Now and Youth Work Now.
National Care Leavers Week runs from 25 to 30 October, but the bookshop will remain open all year. To recommend a book for inclusion, email charlotte.goddard@haymarket.com.
CYP Now is releasing a short video on issues affecting care leavers every day during National Care Leavers Week. The videos can be found at www.lifeaftercare.tv
