Health News: Sexual Health - Sex education for parents set to grow

Sexual health charity fpa is to expand a scheme that helps parents to talk to their children about sex.
The Speakeasy project is run by the charity in London, Birmingham and Manchester and trains parents to talk openly and honestly about sex and relationships with their children.
Following a £486,699 Lottery grant, (Children Now, 13-19 October) the scheme will be expanded to Newcastle, where a Speakeasy worker will be based at Barnardo's to carry out project work across the city.
The project has also been awarded £250,000 from the Government's Parenting Fund to train Sure Start and children's centre staff across the country to carry out Speakeasy work.
The news comes as an evaluation of the project found that the knowledge gained stayed with parents in the long term.
