Derby appoints Jo Davidson as interim director of children's services
Friday, 10 September 2010
Derby City Council has appointed Jo Davidson, a former children's services chief at Gloucestershire council, as its interim strategic director for children and young people.
The announcement follows the suspension of Ros Vahey last month. A council representative was unable to comment on the reasons behind Vahey's suspension due to an ongoing investigation.
Davidson is expected to start the role next week. Rita Silvester is currently covering the duties and responsibilities of Vahey.
Before moving to Derby council, Vahey was deputy chief executive at Education Leeds.
