Derby's director of children's services suspended
By CYP Now Friday, 27 August 2010
Derby Council's director of children's services Ros Vahey has been suspended from her post.
The local authority was unable to explain the reasons behind Vahey's suspension and refused to confirm or deny whether it relates to a safeguarding issue.
A press office spokesman said: "An internal investigation will now take place. It is not appropriate to comment any further."
Assistant director Rita Sylvester has now been appointed temporary director of children’s services with immediate effect.
Vahey replaced Andrew Flack as director earlier this year. She previously worked for Education Leeds as deputy chief executive.Would you like to post a comment?
