The new edition of CYP Now takes an in-depth look at how children's services are working to prevent the need for care proceedings.
The 12-page special report on preventing care proceedings looks at trends in care demand; the factors driving this, including key government policies; and what the latest evidence shows in how proceedings are being used.
Also profiled are four projects that work to divert cases involving vulnerable children and families away from the courts. These include: An early help version of the Family Drug and Alcohol Court scheme; relationship-based practice in Brighton & Hove; Cafcass Plus pilots; and multisystemic therapy in Manchester.
