Youth Scotland is publishing a series of resources to support youth work volunteers.
The youth work organisation is to unveil the aids, consisting of an online resource bank and three practical guides, tomorrow (12 June).
The materials have been developed as a result of the Scottish Government's Volunteering in the Youth Sector: An Action Plan, which is being delivered by Youth Scotland, YouthLink Scotland and Volunteer Development Scotland (CYP Now, 28 November 2007).
The Growing Better Youth Work guide aims to improve the recruitment and training of volunteers working with young people, while No Limits supports the development of young volunteers. Amazing Things is a guide to award schemes in Scotland that recognise young people's achievements and contributions, while the Resources Bank is an online database of resources supporting youth work volunteering.
The Volunteering Action Plan outlines how to support the youth work sector to provide more chances for young people to volunteer in youth work.
