Ealing Council has appointed a new social services management team after two key figures left over concerns about proposals to split children's and adults' social services into separate departments.

Mike Leadbetter resigned as interim director of social services, as did Alan Chapman, interim director of adult services.

Chief executive Gillian Guy appointed Dr Julie Hollyman, chief executive of the West London Mental Health NHS Trust, as both interim director of social services and director of children's social services.

The council has also appointed a new interim education director following the resignation of the previous incumbent last month.
