Teenagers in Gosport celebrate the opening of a new youth club funded by Hampshire County Council, the Youth Capital Fund and the South East England Regional Development Agency. Facilities at the Rowner Youth Centre include a health room and coffee bar. Local young people, including children at a primary school, helped choose the decoration and furnishings. A youth forum has also been formed to give teenagers a say in the centre's future. Conservative councillor David Kirk, Hampshire's lead member for education, said: "The aim of the youth building is to provide Rowner with a centre where its younger residents can have fun, socialise and develop."
