Artist Quentin Blake, best known for illustrating Roald Dahl's books, has helped launch a scheme to encourage children to document their lives through drawing.
The Land of Illustrations project is a joint venture between the Princeof Wales' Arts & Kids Foundation, shopping centre owner Land Securities,and The Quentin Blake Gallery of Illustration. As part of the projectchildren across the UK will use a specially designed book to documentthe world around them.
Blake, patron of the Arts & Kids Foundation, said: "This work fits intothe curriculum and gives children the opportunity to capture how theyfeel about the place where they live."
The work produced by the children involved in the project will go onpublic display at one of Land Securities' shopping centres during theOctober half-term.
