News in Brief: Minimum allowance for foster carers
The Government has ruled out using a ringfenced grant to implement the minimum allowance for foster carers to be introduced through its amendment to the Children Bill (Children Now, 3-9 November). Children's minister Margaret Hodge also set a timetable for the implementation of the allowance.
