Teachers across the UK are being urged to nominate pupils for the Diana Anti-Bullying Award.
This new addition to the Diana Awards was set up in partnership with the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which is based at NCB, and is open to all primary and secondary schools. The award is non-competitive, with a simple nomination system allowing schools and colleges to nominate up to six individuals, or a group of up to 30 pupils.
Young people presented with the Diana Anti-Bullying Award will receive a certificate to mark their achievement.
"Bullying at school is something far too many pupils have to endure," said Gill Frances, manager of the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
"Children and young people are the experts in this area and many of them are successfully tackling it in their schools. We are delighted that the Diana Princess of Wales Anti-Bullying Award is recognising their achievements."
She continued: "We want to create a culture in schools where bullying does not happen in the first place and hope this award will help make this vision a reality."
- The deadline for nominations is 27 May. Visit www.diana-award.org.uk or call 020 8709 9935 to find out more.
