Co-location Fund

Children & Young People Now
12 March 2009

What is it? The Children's Plan One Year On: A Progress Report promised a co-location capital fund.

The idea is to help local partnerships develop facilities that will enable services for children and young people to be delivered in a joined-up way.

How much is on offer? The government has made £200m available, which it proposes to invest in 50 to 100 projects. These must be completed by September 2011.

What will it fund? The fund will support projects that improve access to children, young people and their families. They should also assist integrated working between professionals, which would not have happened without additional funding.

Who can apply? Applications must demonstrate involvement from two or more partners such as education, early years provision, sport, health, youth support, housing, police, play and leisure services. Applications should be returned to the Department for Children, Schools and Families by 6 April.
