The research Young People Now commissioned from Mori in the autumn of 2004 to kick off our Positive Images campaign confirmed the feelings of those who believe that print and broadcast media routinely label young people as yobs, thugs and hooligans - thus contributing to an unbalanced picture of young people in society. The research showed that almost three out of four stories about young people are negative, and that only eight per cent of stories about young people actually carry quotes from young people - at best lazy journalism, at worst blind prejudice.
