YWCA England & Wales

YWCA is the leading charity working with the most disadvantaged young women in England and Wales. We want a future where they can overcome prejudice and take charge of their own lives. That’s why we run services to support them and campaign with them to combat the discrimination they face.

Our face to face work with young women tells us what we should be campaigning on, and we aim to influence public policy and make real changes in young women’s lives.  We are concerned about domestic violence, sex education, teenage pregnancy and motherhood, participation in democratic process, childcare, the criminal justice system, poverty, debt, work, racism, isolation and discrimination.

Employment Opportunities

By joining us at one of our youth and community projects at centres across England and Wales, or working in our policy and campaigns team, you can make a difference to the lives of girls and young women.  We employ about 250 staff, with about 35 staff working at our head office in Oxford.

Employment Policy

YWCA promotes equality of opportunity for all.

We recognise the value of all human beings through respect and understanding.  We welcome diversity and difference.

YWCA resists all direct or indirect discrimination in its employment practices.

Learning and Development

YWCA demands a skilled, motivated workforce, and offers an exceptional and unique service to young women.

To continue this success, we offer staff learning opportunities that are accessible, equitable and consistent.  We encourage staff to perform to the best of their ability and to ensure that they are appropriately qualified to carry out their role.

Salary and Benefits

There are loads of great reasons to work at YWCA.  Paid-for training, generous holiday and sick pay, free life assurance, excellent pension scheme, flexible working hours and opportunities to name a few.
