Volunteers can make a hugely valuable contribution to the work of children's centres and extended schools so it is worth actively promoting the practice. Volunteering is rewarding in itself but centres and schools should take every opportunity to support and encourage their voluntary workforce. Volunteering can be a route into training and employment so offering good opportunities can help centres and schools meet their goals.
