Rebika Alam and her six-year-old daughter Nazifa helped launch the Kidney Kids Appeal at Birmingham Children's Hospital for £1.5m to enable the renal unit to move to a new purpose-built facility in the Burns, Educational and Neonatal Surgery Centre. Every year 1,500 children with kidney problems are treated at the hospital amid cramped conditions with little natural light. To make a donation visit www.kidneykids.co.uk or call 0800 0 302 304.
