The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) wants to give courts more flexible powers to get people involved in contact cases to take part in activities such as information meetings, parenting programmes and other activities to promote contact with a child.
The consultation proposes that conditions are given with contact orders that may require attendance at a contact activity.
