Ofsted is considering publishing children's homes reports on its website, as it does with other social care reports. It says the move would give local authorities and parents easier access to information but it is also conscious of the need to protect children and young people who live in children's homes.
Currently, if someone wants a copy of a children's home inspection report they have to use the Freedom of Information Act. Ofsted then makes a copy of the report and removes the address of the home and any content that may identify a child. It is also consulting directly...
