The Home Office figures, due out on Thursday, show offences by girls aged ten to 17 went up by 12,000 to 59,000 between 2003/04 and 2006/07. Meanwhile, offences committed by boys fell from 240,000 to 236,000. Shadow home secretary David Davis said: "This is a shocking indictment of how Labour has failed to get a grip on crime and its causes.
