Nurseries looking to improve training could start with a skills broker. Training specialists Chris and Sally Eaton explain how it works. Train to Gain is a funding stream that growing numbers of providers are tapping into. Initially it only offered funding for obtaining a level 2 NVQ, but recently it has expanded to include level 3.
The scheme is marketed by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) as an advice service to employers, using 'skills brokers'. Their role is to help employers identify their training needs and find a suitable training provider. The skills brokers are trained by the LSC...
