Under its plans, 16- and 17-years-olds will be barred from leaving school unless they have a job, voluntary post or training course to go to. In effect, there will no longer be any NEETs - young people not in employment, education or training. Great for government targets, but will another two years in school really turn these young people's lives around? The government appears to have put the cart before the horse - trying to end the scandal of educational failure as young people...
