The Government has announced 10 centres of excellence to take forward its work on tackling youth homelessness. Nine of the centres are in the areas of Stockton-on-Tees, Knowsley, Wakefield, Wychavon, Leicester, Hertsmere, Croydon, Barnet, and Wiltshire. The 10th is youth housing charity St Basils, which will be working with the voluntary sector and the regional centres. The centres will operate from September, developing best practice in the reduction and prevention of homelessness among 16- to 25-year-olds.
