Since 2001, 320 children have been injured at fairs and amusement parks. Ignoring safety instructions is high on the list of reasons says the Health and Safety Executive, which published the figures. It says many such accidents could be avoided if parents took simple precautions.
One problem is children wanting to maintain eye contact with their
parents. This can lead to them turning and even standing up on rides to see their
parents. The answer is to explain to children the importance of staying in their
